Celebrating its fourth year in the business of informing, assisting and entertaining car buyers, the CompleteCar.ie website grew substantially in 2014. In line with a concerted effort from the team to produce more content than any other motoring outlet in Ireland, traffic to the site increased substantially. The overall page views were up 23.3%, while the number of readers went up by a massive 27.4%. Not only that, but the readers were shown to be highly engaged, leading to one-on-one car buying advice and a high rate of clicks throughout the website and on advertiser links. Of particular note, the Ask Us Anything and Car Reviews sections have grown, indicating that readers trust the team's unbiased opinions and expert knowledge and that readers want to be more informed when buying a car.
While maintaining effort to grow the website, CompleteCar.ie also launched Ireland's first motoring iPad Mag, and has successfully published an issue every month since the first in July 2014. The seventh issue will be launched at the end of January 2015.
New personnel.
With the demands of delivering fresh, up to date content on a daily basis, it became clear that more hands were needed on deck, so CompleteCar.ie began the search in 2014 for the right candidate to assist with the production side of things, but also to spend time on other aspects of the business, such as search engine optimisation (SEO), allowing the rest of the team to focus on content. CompleteCar.ie is now happy to announce the appointment of Melanie May as Production & Social Media Editor. Melanie has a long list of qualifications highlighting her love of learning. With a B.A. Honours Degree in Drama and Film Studies Melanie gained her Postgraduate Certificate in Education and became a high-school teacher. Following a five-year backpacking break Melanie then gained a Higher Diploma and Master of Science in Applied Psychology from Trinity College. Taking her love of human behaviour and applying it to the digital world Melanie then obtained a Certificate and Diploma in Digital Marketing. Her tasks at CompleteCar.ie will include sub-editing all copy for the website and iPad Mag, assisting with publishing the same and enhancing CompleteCar.ie's SEO and social media performance, plus establishing a digital marketing plan for the company.
At the same time, Paul and Dave's roles have evolved. Paul is now News & Features Editor, while Dave is theRoad Test Editor, though he will work with Melanie on all social media. Neil remains the Editor-at-large and Shane is the Editor.
Plans for 2015.
Many behind the scenes changes will take place this year at CompleteCar.ie, but readers will soon benefit from a new road test directory that is more focused on their needs rather than the test drive schedule. A considerable website overhaul is also in the works, making it more user-friendly and reader-centred, putting what they want most up front.
